Welcome to Miss Kemp’s Junior High Blog.  Here you can keep current with class activities as well as access resources that will help you  keep up with class or get ahead.

The time in middle school is an important time when students are developing the skills they will need to be successful in high school.  Two of the most crucial skills that students need, not only in high school, but for the rest of their lives, are reading and writing.  I hope to help students develop these skills not only in the classroom, but also out of the classroom by providing useful resources and a way to communicate with me right here in this space.

You will see tabs at the top of the page that you can click on to view: sixth grade homework, seventh grade homework, resources that may be useful for parents, and recommendations for reading outside of class.

Of course, social skills, study skills, and organization skills also require development during these transitional years.  Many things we do in class will help students develop these skills.  Resources for parents about these skills can be found on the “Parent Resources” page.  Please find all of my contact information under the “About Miss Kemp” tab.  This is for both parents and students.  I encourage students to take accountability for their academic success and take a proactive role in reaching out to me for any help they may need.
